J&J Wants Ortho Evra Documents Kept Under Wraps

Law360, New York (June 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Concerned over being tried in the court of public opinion, Johnson & Johnson has urged a judge to keep confidential millions of documents that have been produced in connection with the multidistrict product liability litigation currently raging over popular birth control patch Ortho Evra.

On Monday, the pharmaceutical giant filed the request in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio on behalf of itself and subsidiary Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical Co., pleading with the judge to ignore plaintiffs' demands to unseal the documents.
