EC Reopens Probe Of Sony Bertelsmann Deal

Law360, New York (June 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Three months after putting it on hold, the European Commission has relaunched its investigation into the merger of Sony Corp. and Bertelsmann AG.

In a decision made public on Tuesday, the Commission re-opened its probe into possible antitrust concerns caused by the merger of the music arms of the two companies. The Commission has set Oct. 10 as the new date for approval.
