BigLaw To Move More Staff, Attys Away From Big Cities

Law360, New York (October 19, 2011, 7:53 PM EDT) -- Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP's news this week that it will open a Nashville, Tenn., outpost for its nonlegal support staff reflects a growing trend to save money that could ultimately lead to firms shipping attorneys to cheaper locales, too, industry experts say.

Pillsbury said on Tuesday that it would open a professional services center in Nashville by 2012 that will eventually employ 150 staffers, citing the Music City's lower taxes, affordable housing and general cost advantages.
