ITC Supports Dumping Duties On Chinese Magnesium

Law360, New York (October 19, 2011, 3:50 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission on Wednesday backed the U.S. Department of Commerce in determining that anti-dumping duties against Chinese magnesium imports must stand in order to protect domestic producers of the chemical.

The ITC voted to uphold the 16-year-old order instituting tariffs on Chinese magnesium imports two weeks after Commerce determined in a sunset review that revocation of the duties would likely lead China's magnesium producers to resume dumping their product on the American market.
