Farmers Insurance Exchange Settles OT Claims

Law360, New York (October 19, 2011, 7:42 PM EDT) -- The Farmers Insurance Exchange on Wednesday in Minnesota settled with a putative class of investigators who alleged the exchange misclassified them to avoid paying overtime wages.

U.S. District Judge John R. Tunheim signed off on a joint motion filed by the plaintiffs and the exchange, and dismissed the plaintiffs' claims with prejudice. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

The Farmers Insurance Exchange sells insurance policies nationwide, and is owned by policyholders who pool their resources to insure each other, according to a September 2009...
