Allstate Surrenders To Mississippi Katrina Claimants

Law360, New York (June 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- On the heels of Nationwide Mutual Insurance throwing in the towel, Allstate Insurance Co. has decided to give up the fight as well and settle a slew of claims brought by a group of Mississippi policyholders whose homes were damaged by Hurricane Katrina.

On Monday, AllState and the Scruggs Katrina group, the legal team representing the policyholders, revealed that a deal had been reached in the drawn-out battle between the insurance giant and a group of homeowners.
