Prestage Settles Don, Doff Suit For $1.8M

Law360, New York (October 20, 2011, 2:20 PM EDT) -- Turkey processor Prestage Foods Inc. and a class of employees on Wednesday asked a North Carolina federal judge to approve a $1.8 million settlement in a suit accusing the company of failing to pay workers for time spent donning and doffing gear.

The joint motion said that $1 million of the settlement would go to the approximately 1,200 class members, with the remainder covering attorneys' fees and costs.
