Business Owner, Ohio Official Charged In Kickback Probe

Law360, New York (October 21, 2011, 4:44 PM EDT) -- A federal grand jury returned an indictment Thursday in Ohio against electrical-business owner Michael Forlani and embattled former Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora, alleging that they participated in a kickback scheme over government contract work.

Authorities arrested Forlani, owner of several Cleveland-area businesses, including Northeast Ohio Electric LLC, Friday morning on eighteen counts of racketeering, mail fraud and other related charges. The indictment alleges that he made payments to Dimora and other local officials in exchange for government contracts and other benefits.
