Judge Rules Against Teva In Case Over Generic Univasc

Law360 (January 6, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal district court has ruled that Teva Pharmaceuticals’s generic moexipril infringes a patent for the hypertension drug Univasc.

Earlier this week, German drug maker Schwarz Pharma was granted summary judgment by the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey on its claim that Israli generics maker Teva’s drug infringes U.S. Patent No 4,743,450.

The infringement action in the District of New Jersey may now proceed to the damages phase, the drug maker said in a statement.
