Small Distributor Ordered To Recall China-Made Tires

Law360 (June 27, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Federal safety officials have decreed that size doesn’t matter when it comes to product recalls, and ordered a small distributor to recall as many as 450,000 faulty tires it had bought from a Chinese manufacturer to sell in the United States.

Foreign Tire Sales Inc. on Monday said an unknown number of light truck radials it had imported since 2002 from China-based Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber Co. were made without a crucial part that prevents tread separation.
