LG Ordered To Pay Costs To Whirlpool In False Ad Suit

Law360, New York (October 21, 2011, 7:32 PM EDT) -- An Illinois federal judge has ordered LG Electronics USA Inc. to pay $411,000 in court costs to Whirlpool Corp. after it lost most of a case accusing Whirlpool of falsely advertising its dryers as “steam dryers,” Whirlpool said Friday.

U.S. Judge Amy St. Eve ruled Thursday that Whirlpool was the “prevailing party” in the false advertising suit even though it voluntarily dismissed its counterclaims against LG Electronics.
