Kinder Morgan Buys Natural Gas Treater For $155M

Law360, New York (October 24, 2011, 4:33 PM EDT) -- Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP has agreed to acquire Odessa, Texas-based SouthTex Treaters Inc. for $155 million to boost its natural gas treatment business, the pipeline and energy storage giant said Monday.

Publicly traded Kinder Morgan Energy's acquisition of privately owned SouthTex will allow it to build large amine plants for natural gas treatment facilities that are often necessary for shale production, said Bill Stokes, vice president of subsidiary Kinder Morgan Treating, on Monday.
