Kid Brands Escapes Investor Suit Over Dumping Scheme

Law360, New York (October 24, 2011, 6:56 PM EDT) -- A New Jersey federal judge on Monday dismissed a shareholder derivative suit alleging directors of children's products maker Kid Brands Inc. allowed subsidiary LaJobi Inc. to skirt import duties on goods imported to the U.S. from China.

The plaintiff — the City of Roseville Employees' Retirement System — filed the suit in May, after Kid Brands disclosed that an internal investigation of LaJobi had found misconduct and violations of anti-dumping regulations.
