GSK To Generics: Hands Off Paxil Patents

Law360, New York (June 27, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- GlaxoSmithKline escalated its war over blockbuster antidepressant Paxil on another front Monday, filing suit against Mylan Laboratories Inc. in a New Jersey district court over the generics maker's alleged patent infringement.

According to the complaint, in September 2005 Mylan filed an Abbreviated New Drug Application with the Food and Drug Administration that infringed the patent—number 7,229,640—for its controlled release version of paroxetine hydrochloride.
