UK Internet Co. Gets 2 Weeks To Block Movie Piracy Site

Law360, New York (October 26, 2011, 2:21 PM EDT) -- The U.K. High Court on Wednesday gave British Telecommunications PLC two weeks to block subscribers from accessing a website that provides pirated movies, implementing a July ruling in favor of six Hollywood studios seeking to stop infringement of copyrighted films.

Justice Richard Arnold laid out the terms of the blocking order Wednesday, forcing the U.K.’s largest Internet service provider to block access by its customers to the website Newzbin2, and any other IP addresses or URLs whose main purpose is to facilitate access to the site....
