LSI To Pick Up SandForce For $322M

Law360, New York (October 26, 2011, 7:11 PM EDT) -- Network storage solutions provider LSI Corp. agreed to buy SandForce Inc., which provides flash storage processors for enterprise and client flash solutions, by paying $322 million cash and assuming $48 million in stock, LSI announced Wednesday.

The acquisition is intended to extend LSI's industry-leading position and breadth in storage technology solutions, the company said in a statement.

In addition, it will enhance LSI's ability to compete in the fast-growing server and storage peripheral component interconnect express, or PCIe, flash adapter market by combining LSI's custom capability...
