Obama Campaign Sues Online Seller Over Rising Sun Mark

Law360, New York (October 26, 2011, 10:30 PM EDT) -- President Barack Obama's re-election campaign committee sued a promotion company in Illinois on Wednesday, accusing it of peddling unauthorized merchandise online that infringes the campaign's trademarked “Rising Sun” logos.

The complaint, lodged by Obama for America in Illinois federal court, claims that Washington Promotions & Printing Inc. is selling goods featuring the committee's Rising Sun and 2012 logos through its website DemStore.com "in an effort to trade on the enormous popularity of the Rising Sun logos and trademarks."
