Avon Faces SEC Probe Of Analyst Contacts, FCPA Claims

Law360, New York (October 27, 2011, 3:21 PM EDT) -- Cosmetics giant Avon Products Inc. disclosed Thursday that U.S. securities regulators are seeking details on potentially improper contacts with financial analysts, and formally launching an investigation into foreign bribery allegations, adding to the company’s legal woes.

Avon said in a quarterly report that it received a subpoena from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday requesting documents and information connected to possible insider trading claims concerning contacts with financial analysts during 2010 and 2011.
