Edwards Can't Ditch Charges Over Campaign Donations

Law360, New York (October 27, 2011, 11:34 AM EDT) -- A North Carolina federal judge on Thursday refused to throw out a criminal case accusing former presidential hopeful and U.S. Sen. John Edwards of accepting $1 million in campaign gifts and using the money to hide an extramarital affair.

U.S. District Judge Catherine C. Eagles denied several motions to dismiss without prejudice, a representative for the prosecution said.
