VA Should Have Saved IT Contract For Vet-Owned Biz: Suit

Law360, New York (October 28, 2011, 8:22 PM EDT) -- Contractor Med Trends Inc. sued the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims on Thursday, challenging the agency's failure to set aside an information technology contract for veteran-owned small businesses.

The VA issued a procurement on Oct. 7 seeking a contractor to provide the agency with operations and maintenance support services for the agency's continuing redesign of its Veterans Benefits Management System — Rating, or VBMS-R, application.
