Avago, STMicro Resolve Antitrust Suit Over Optics Patent

Law360, New York (October 28, 2011, 12:13 PM EDT) -- Avago Technologies US Inc. and STMicroelectronics Inc. on Thursday settled STMicro's suit accusing Avago of controlling a monopoly on the optical sensors used in computer mice by bullying competitors with baseless patent lawsuits.

A California federal judge signed off on a stipulation for dismissal of the antitrust suit reached through a mediation session earlier this week that also resolved related patent suits between Avago and STMicro in Texas.
