HTC, AT&T Tagged With SmartPhone Patent Suit

Law360, New York (October 31, 2011, 3:30 PM EDT) -- SmartPhone Technologies LLC sued AT&T Inc. and HTC Corp. in Texas federal court Monday, claiming HTC's phones infringe four of its patents.

Frisco, Texas-based SmartPhone alleges in its complaint that HTC's phones violate its intellectual property, and that AT&T has infringed three of the asserted patents by selling the phones.

The lawsuit seeks damages of not less than a reasonable royalty to compensate SmartPhone for the alleged infringement, as well as pre- and post-judgment interest on the damages.
