Media24 Predatory Pricing Suit Sent To Antitrust Tribunal

Law360, New York (October 31, 2011, 5:35 PM EDT) -- A predatory pricing complaint accusing South African publisher Media24 of driving a rival community newspaper out of business will go before a competition tribunal for adjudication, South Africa's antitrust watchdog said Monday.

The South African Competition Commission said in a statement that it referred the case to the Competition Tribunal of South Africa for adjudication after conducting an investigation showing that the newspaper and magazine publisher had charged low advertising rates in the community newspaper market in the Goldfields region of the country’s Free State province....
