Mitel Says ShoreTel Infringed Phone, Web Patents

Law360, New York (June 28, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Canadian telecommunications company Mitel Networks Corporation on Wednesday sued Sunnyvale, Cal.-based ShoreTel Inc. for allegedly infringing on three of its telephone patents and one of its Internet patents.

Mitel, which said in court documents that its corporate parent is Power Technology Investment Corporation and Power Corporation of Canada, filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The complaint contains one count of patent infringement for each patent.

Repeated requests for comment from ShoreTel were not answered by press-time.
