Lawsuits Against Toy Train Maker Pull Into Court

Law360 (June 28, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Just days after toy maker RC2 Corp. recalled its Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway toys after discovering that its Chinese manufacturer had been painting the models with lead paint, two product liability suits have chugged into the federal court in Chicago.

The suits, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, accuse the company of knowingly designing, producing, marketing and distributing toys that were a hazard to children. They are both seeking class action status.
