Google Spells Out Custom-Ad Policy For Users

Law360, New York (November 1, 2011, 2:16 PM EDT) -- Google Inc. will make it easier for users to determine what information the search giant uses to customize advertisements, the latest in a series of recent moves designed to quell privacy concerns, the company announced Monday.

Within weeks, a link titled “Why these ads” will appear next to advertisements on Google's search site and Gmail, the company said in a blog post. Users can click the link to see how Google combs through recent search terms to target ads, according to the company.
