Ex-Ohio Official Can't Move Corruption Trial

Law360, New York (November 1, 2011, 5:50 PM EDT) -- A federal judge refused Monday to move the corruption trial of a former Ohio official accused of trading kickbacks for government contracts to another district, saying local media coverage of the case had not created the kind of “carnival atmosphere” that would prejudice jurors.

The order keeps former Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora's trial in the Northern District of Ohio, where a slew of officials have been charged with taking kickbacks in exchange for contracts as part of a corruption probe that has sparked media interest....
