Symantec Uncovers Scheme To Steal Chemical Cos.' IP

Law360, New York (November 1, 2011, 6:49 PM EDT) -- Security company Symantec Corp. announced Monday it had uncovered a hacking campaign to steal intellectual property from chemicals makers around the world, but it was unclear on whose behalf the only known participant, a Chinese man, was acting.

The so-called Nitro campaign targeted at least 29 chemical companies, including several Fortune 100 companies, and 19 companies from other sectors such as defense, according to a report released by Symantec.
