DOE Contractor Evaluations Full Of Holes: IG Report

Law360, New York (November 1, 2011, 7:59 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Energy failed to evaluate prior contractor performance in one-fifth of over 500 nonfacility contracts and financial assistance awards it handed out in 2009 and 2010, according to a Tuesday report by the agency's inspector general.

IG Gregory H. Friedman said the department also failed to complete over one-third of 900 post-award contractor performance evaluations within 120 days, as required. Nearly 200 of those late evaluations were overdue by six months or more, Friedman said.
