9th Circ. Nixes Union Action Over Hospital Layoffs

Law360, New York (November 1, 2011, 8:44 PM EDT) -- The Ninth Circuit on Tuesday affirmed a lower court’s ruling that a hospital and its management firms weren't obligated under federal labor laws to warn employees or their union of impending layoffs, finding the union had failed to present its argument in its opening brief.
