Ariz. Town OKs Huge Development Plan Near Grand Canyon

Law360, New York (November 3, 2011, 7:37 PM EDT) -- The town council of Tusayan, Ariz., on Wednesday approved a controversial proposal from Italian developer Stilo Development Group USA that will include hotels, retail space and hundreds of homes in the tiny town bordering Grand Canyon National Park despite water concerns.

Council members signed off on the rezoning petitions requested by Stilo, according to Tusayan town attorney Bill Sims, despite protests from environmental groups and the U.S. National Park Service over water concerns.
