EU Implements Roaming Regulation

Law360 (July 2, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In what the European Commission has called “one of the fastest ever political agreements between the European Parliament, the Council and the Commission,” the European Union has implemented a policy that caps mobile phone roaming rates across Europe.

Adopted on June 30, the EU Roaming Regulation establishes a maximum per minute charge that a company can charge customers as a roaming fee. Customers will pay a maximum of €0.49 per minute for calls made and €0.24 per minute for calls received.
