Allergan Faces Medicaid Fraud Probe By Mass. AG

Law360, New York (November 7, 2011, 2:25 PM EST) -- The Medicaid fraud division of the Massachusetts attorney general's office is investigating Allergan Inc.'s eye care consulting group, the company disclosed Friday, just months after a federal court unsealed a False Claims Act complaint alleging off-label marketing of Allergan's eye care drugs.

Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley sent Allergan a civil investigative demand in September, according to a quarterly report the Irvine, Calif.-based company filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
