Iams Asks To Be Dropped From Pet Food Litigation

Law360, New York (July 2, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Pet products company Iams Co. defended itself on Friday against a slew of claims made by pet owners in the New York region who had bought cat and dog food contaminated with melamine, a poisonous protein substitute that killed and injured animals across the United States.

The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, is one of many filed around the nation accusing supplier Menu Foods Inc. and the various pet food companies that buy from it of manufacturing...
