American Blind Ordered To Pay Up To Google

Law360, New York (July 2, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A magistrate judge has ordered American Blind & Wallpaper Factory Inc. to pay Google Inc. a $15,000 monetary sanction after deciding that the home improvement company showed a “willful indifference” in fulfilling its discovery obligations in an ongoing trademark case.

The Wednesday judgment fell short of the terminating sanction that Google had asked for, but Magistrate Judge Richard Seeborg argued that the penalty was sufficient to penalize and deter similar conduct in the future from American Blind.
