Kids Social Site To Erase Minors' Data To End FTC Suit

Law360, New York (November 8, 2011, 3:47 PM EST) -- The Federal Trade Commission on Tuesday settled a suit against Skid-e-kids, a children's social networking site, forcing the site operator to destroy the personal information of 5,600 children collected without parental consent.

The website, which promotes itself as “Facebook and MySpace for kids,” was accused of violating the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act by collecting personal information from children under 13.
