European Patent Office Rules For Hynix In Patent Dispute With Rambus: Report

Law360, New York (January 17, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- The European Patent Office has dismissed claims brought by memory-chip maker Rambus Inc., effectively clearing South Korean rival Hynix Semiconductor Inc. of infringement charges, according to the Seoul Economic Daily newspaper.

The European Patent Office accepted a motion, jointly filed by Infineon Technologies and Micron Technology, ruling that Rambus had unfairly stretched the scope of its EP 956 patent, the newspaper reported.
