DOC Launches Probe Into Chinese Solar Panel Dumping

Law360, New York (November 9, 2011, 8:20 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce decided Wednesday to investigate whether Chinese solar panel makers are dumping underpriced, subsidized imports into the country, despite protests from China's trade watchdog that any duties would amount to protectionism.

The DOC's International Trade Administration opened separate anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations into crystalline silicon solar cells following an October petition from the Coalition for American Solar Manufacturing.
