ITC Works Kinks Out Of Condom “Twist”

Law360, New York (July 2, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The International Trade Commission has put to rest a patent case over special “twisted” condoms that spent three years bouncing between courts, halting the investigation and ruling that no violations occurred.

The long-running dispute began in 2004 when Portfolio Technologies Inc., owner of Pleasure Plus, sued Church & Dwight, owner of Trojan, as well as Intellx Inc. and India-based Reddy Medtech Ltd. over infringement of U.S. Patent Number 5,082,004, which covers "prophylactic with glans penis stimulation."
