Judge Refuses To Ban Maxim Chips In Qualcomm Trade Secrets Suit

Law360, New York (January 18, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge in California has ruled that Maxim Integrated likely engaged in misappropriation of Qualcomm’s trade secrets, but nonetheless refused to grant Qualcomm's request to bar Maxim from selling its key WC31 and WC32 chips.

In its ruling, the court barred Maxim from any "current and future acts misappropriating trade secrets of Qualcomm. The court, however, denied a Qualcomm request to stop Maxim from selling two specific chip lines for a year.
