NY Pol Found Not Guilty In Hospital Bribe Case

Law360, New York (November 10, 2011, 6:42 PM EST) -- A federal jury on Thursday found New York state Assemblyman William Boyland Jr. not guilty of taking bribes from the CEO of Medisys Health Network in exchange for favorable government treatment for the health care company.

Boyland, who was accused of directing millions of dollars in state money to Medisys in exchange for a no-show consulting job, emerged from a Manhattan courtroom visibly relieved after the jury found him not guilty on two counts of fraud and bribery.
