EC Looking For Answers In Next-Gen DVD Probe

Law360, New York (July 3, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hollywood studios must turn over information about their negotiations with the makers of next generation DVD formats by the end of this week, as the European Commission ups its probe into possible infringements of antitrust regulations in the high definition DVD industry.

The Commission is concerned that Blu-ray and HD-DVD makers may have used anti-competitive tactics used to strike exclusive deals with major motion picture studios.
