Supreme Court Takes Up Health Care Reform

Law360, New York (November 14, 2011, 10:51 AM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court agreed Monday to review the Eleventh Circuit's decision that a federal requirement for individuals to buy health insurance is unconstitutional, granting petitions from the U.S. government and more than two dozen states.

The U.S. Department of Justice filed a petition for certiorari with the Supreme Court on Sept. 28, a day after 26 states fighting the law sought a high court review. A petition from the National Federation of Independent Business, a small-business trade group, was also granted.
