Opti Goes On Attack Against AMD, Broadcom, Others

Law360 (July 3, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Opti Inc. has gone after eight technology companies, alleging they are infringing two its patents for its Compact ISA-Bus technology.

The lawsuit, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, names as defendants Advanced Micro Devices, Atmel Corporation, Broadcom Corporation, Renesas Technology America Inc., Silicon Storage Technology Inc., SMSC, STMicroelectronics and VIA Technologies Inc.

Opti alleges the defendants either directly or through subsidiaries or intermediaries ship, distribute, offer for sale or market products that infringe on Opti's patents.
