Amazon, Discovery End IP Battle Over Kindle, E-Commerce

Law360, New York (November 15, 2011, 3:29 PM EST) -- Amazon.com Inc. and the owner of the Discovery Channel and Animal Planet settled two separate patent infringement suits Monday over technology related to the Kindle and the companies’ online shopping features.

Online retailer Amazon and Discovery Communications Inc. filed joint motions to dismiss patent infringement suits in Washington and Delaware federal courts with prejudice, after the two companies said they had reached a settlement agreement.

Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
