TransCanada Agrees To Change Keystone Pipeline Route

Law360, New York (November 15, 2011, 12:19 PM EST) -- TransCanada Corp. said Monday it would reroute its $7 billion Keystone XL pipeline to avoid the environmentally sensitive Sand Hills region of Nebraska, following the Obama administration’s decision to delay the project while considering an alternative route.

The pipeline operator said it supported a bill introduced in the Nebraska legislature that would force a reroute of the pipeline around the region, which is home to the massive Ogallala Aquifer, a major source of drinking and irrigation water for several U.S. states.
