Nurses Attack Hospitals, DOJ Over Alleged Cartel

Law360, New York (July 3, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Temporary nurses filed two proposed class actions Monday against an Arizona health care association and its member hospitals, saying the alleged cartel resulted in suppressed wages.

The Arizona district court cases, which the plaintiffs' attorney David Sorensen of Berger & Montague PC expect to be consolidated soon, target the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association and a slew of hospital heavyweights—among them Banner Health, University Medical Center Corp., TMC Healthcare, Sun Health Corp., Catholic Healthcare West, and Navapache Health Care Assn.
