VA Beats IBM's Challenge To $12B Tech Contract

Law360, New York (November 16, 2011, 2:40 PM EST) -- A U.S. Court of Federal Claims judge on Tuesday upheld the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' decision to hand a $12 billion information technology contract to a Hewlett-Packard Co. unit and 13 other vendors, denying a protest by spurned bidder IBM Corp.

Judge George W. Miller issued a sealed order denying IBM's protest — the third lawsuit filed against the VA over the contract, which was as awarded in July for work that will upgrade the department's IT system as it attempts to streamline its operations...
