Broadcom Champions Ban On Phones

Law360 (July 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Telecommunications giant Broadcom Inc. on Tuesday rebutted rival companies' motion to be allowed to import products into the U.S. that allegedly infringe Broadcom's patents, which involve a computer chip that extends cell phones' battery life.

The U.S. International Trade Commission has banned the import of all phones that use particular chips made by Qualcomm Inc., which the agency deemed to infringe Broadcom's patent.
