Class Action Attys Awarded $7M For 'Mona Lisa'-Like Work

Law360, New York (November 18, 2011, 2:57 PM EST) -- In a Nov. 9 order awarding over $7 million in attorneys' fees and expenses to plaintiffs in an antitrust class action against five ready-mix concrete manufacturers, an Iowa federal judge lavished praise on the attorneys, comparing their work in the case to the 'Mona Lisa.'

U.S. District Judge Mark W. Bennett said that in his 36-plus-year legal career, he had never been more proud of his profession than when he observed the attorneys' work in the case.
